WEST MICHIGAN – With spring 2013 pretty much a thing of the past as we head in to summer, the National Weather Service has compiled all the data over the past few months to see how things have shaped up. There are certainly a few things worth noting.

In retrospect, spring 2013 is in the record books as one of the wettest on record. Probably not a big surprise since we had some historical flooding along the Grand River in Ionia, Kent, and Ottawa Counties.

Spring 2013 will also go down in the record books as being cooler than average/normal.

And finally it’s worth noting that this spring was the least active severe weather season since 1992.

You can find quite the extensive climate summary assembled by the NWS here. It also includes data for their other climate reporting stations like Lansing and Muskegon as well as maps, charts, and graphs.
