GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With a huge weekend of events around West Michigan, the forecast has high expectations to live up to — fortunately, Mother Nature will largely be up to the challenge over the next couple of days.

Saturday will feature a few clouds as a weak upper-level disturbance slides through the Great Lakes.  That energy may also be enough to trigger a couple of isolated showers in the afternoon, with the best chances coming in central and northern Lower Michigan.  However, most locations around the state will likely remain dry.

After a quiet start to Sunday, the more significant weather system will roll into the region during the afternoon and evening.  This will generate scattered showers and possibly thunderstorms for the late stages of the day.  Severe weather is not expected.

Rain will continue into Monday before diminishing; you can check out the full 7 Day Forecaston the Weather page.
