GRCC Giving High School Grads Chance at Jobs and Internships

Unemployment-Michigan-jobless-genericGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Kent County’s youth will have the chance to land jobs and internships thanks to Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC).

The event is called Ready Now! for Youth and GRCC’s Upward Bound Program and School of Workforce Development have joined forces with Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids, Kent Intermediate School District, and other organizations for the event.

More than 100 teens and young adults between the ages of 17 and 22 are expected to attend the event that runs from June 10 to 13. Attendees will go through employability skills training on June 10 and 11 at the Kent Intermediate School District campus, and on June 12 they will go to Goodwill Industries on Grand Avenue to complete their resumes, learn about applications, and participate in mock interviews. On the last day from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., businesses will interview participants for jobs and internships.
