ZZ Top Announced As ‘Rock The Rapids’ Headliner

6.10 zz topGRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The “Rock the Rapids” festival announced Monday morning that ZZ Top will headline the 2013 show.

The rock icons will perform on Thursday, Aug. 22 to close out the festival.

ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. They have 11 gold records and seven platinum records. They’re known for songs such as “Gimme All Your Lovin’,”Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs.”

The 2013 “Rock the Rapids” concerts happen from August 20-22 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park. Blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd is also performing, but the rest of the lineup has not yet been announced.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Fifth Third Ballpark, by calling 616-784-4131, or by purchasing them online.
