Albion School Board Votes To Send Students To Marshall

Posted

ALBION, Mich. – After a 3 1/2-hour long meeting, the Albion School Board has decided that high school students from their district will be sent to Marshall.

According to Al Pheley, Albion School Board President, the vote that occurred Tuesday night was an unanimous 6-0 approval of the agreement to send it’s student to Marshal High School beginning next school year.  The decision was made at last week’s meeting to table the vote in order for parents and community members to have time to look at the proposed plan.

Back in May the school board made the difficult decision to close the high school to cover an expected 1 million dollar budget shortfall. They needed to cut more than 10% of its 2013-2014 budget.
