GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – As the Grand Rapids Griffins prepare for a possible Calder Cup sweep of the Syracuse Crunch, one family will continue their 13-year cheer.

Kevin and Char Scheppmann have been season ticket holders for the team since 1996.

“I feel a great affiliation for this team, being a Red Wings fan,” Kevin Scheppman said.  “It’s great for West Michigan.  It’s great publicity for our area.”

The Schepmann’s have also been bringing their 9-year-old son to games since he was a baby.  He has aspirations to one day play for the team.  They say the experience of watching the team continues to get better with each year.

“The arenas got better, the teams got better, the fans have come out; it’s phenomenal,” Kevin said.
