Suspects Arraigned In Kentwood Home Invasion

KENTWOOD, Mich. — Two suspects in the June 14 home invasions in Kentwood were arraigned in Kentwood District Court Monday, according to a police press release.

Michael Eugene Tate and Chad Ashton Grady were each charged with first and second-degree home invasion.  These charges carry a combined sentence of up to 35 years in prison and fines up to $8,000.

Both suspects remain at the Kent County Correctional Facility on a $60,000 bond.  A preliminary examination in this case is scheduled within two weeks.

According to police, three suspects were allegedly breaking into a house on the 1800 block of Rondo Street in Kentwood.  While they were responding to that call, they received another that a second break-in was taking place at the 1700 block of the same street.  Tate and Grady were apprehended, but a third suspect remains at large.
