KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — The man accused of fatally shooting his wife in Comstock Township was arraigned for first-degree murder in Kalamazoo County District Court Tuesday.
John Kovach, 42, could spend life in prison if found guilty of shooting his 40-year-old wife Nancy Monday night in the 6900 block of E. Main Street. He has also been charged with carrying a firearm with the intention of committing a crime, which carries a two-year prison penalty if he is found guilty.
Bond was denied in his case, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 2.
