fire_generic2BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Hastings Fire Department is investigating an apartment fire that killed two dogs near Hastings.

According to the Hastings Fire Chief, the fire started around 10:25 p.m. at one of the complexes in a three-unit apartment on the 48oo block of Lawrence Road.

FOX 17 is told the renter could not remember if he was smoking or not at the time of the fire, so crews don’t know how it started.

The renter made it out safe, but the two dogs were killed.

The other units sustained smoke damage.
