Holiday Inn Muskegon HarborMUSKEGON, Mich. — Developer Jon Rooks has confirmed with FOX 17 News that his company, Parkland Properties of Michigan, LLC, has arranged to buy the Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor and invest $1.5 million in inprovements.

“We know this hotel is going to have a big impact one way or another, because it’s this biggest hotel and the biggest meeting space in the county,” Rooks said in an email to FOX 17. “We knew that this was another opportunity for us to step up and make yet another positive impact on downtown Muskegon.”

Parkland now owns what Rooks described as the two largest properties in Muskegon County and will work with the Muskegon Convention and Visitors Bureau to attract events and conventions.

The improvements Rooks plans for the Holiday Inn include upgrading the rooftop deck area at the pool, improving food and beverage areas, and upgrading mechanical systems. The work will be done over the next two years.

The other hotel Parkland owns is the Shoreline Inn. Parkland also has extensive holdings in Muskegon, Spring Lake, Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, and other Michigan cities.
