WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Another month has passed, and here is my monthly look at some of the normal weather and extremes for the month of July.

TEMPERATURES:  Normal highs this month are very constant. From the 1st through the 24th, it is 83º.  For the rest of July, it drops to 82º.  The record high for July is 108º, set on the 13th in 1936.  Normal lows this month are also fairly constant. On the 1st and 2nd,  it is 61º.  For the rest of the month, it rises to 62º.  The record low for July is 41º,  set on the 6th in 1983.

RAINFALL: There is normally 3.78″ of rain in July. There has been as much as 8.83″ (1992) and as little as 0.25″ in 1894.

LENGTH OF DAYLIGHT:  On the 1st, the sunrise is at 6:08am, and the sunset is at 9:25pm. This gives a length of daylight of 15 hours and 17 minutes. By the 31st, the sunrise is at 6:33, and the sunset is at 9:04pm. This results in 14 hours and 31 minutes of daylight. The loss of daylight for July is just 46 minutes.
