SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – John Ball Zoo is now offering visitors a special new look at the animals, by bringing many of the behind-the-scenes animal care tricks and techniques to the public side of several exhibits.

Visitors will be able to see animal training sessions, live enrichment feedings, and even participate in some of the demonstrations.

Examples of what visitors might see are training sessions with the colobus monkeys, lions, bears, and hornbills.

Each day there are 8 to 10 activities offered. Visitors can check the daily schedule on a board near the entrance of the zoo or ask at the information booth in the central plaza.  There’s also a free “John Ball Zoo” app available that lists daily activities along with other zoo events, exhibit descriptions and a map.
