GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — While most of West Michigan won’t see significant rainfall, mostly cloudy conditions with scattered rain showers will create a less-than-ideal forecast for Tuesday.

An upper-level low-pressure system spinning back toward the region will allow showers to develop at least through much of the morning.  Conditions may dry out a bit more in the afternoon.  The best chances for widespread rain will remain generally south and east of Grand Rapids.

The clouds and showers will hold most temperatures in the 70s.  The warmest readings may end up being along the lakeshore, with winds coming offshore and rain not as much of a factor.

Wednesday will feature a bit more sunshine, but scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to redevelop in the afternoon.

Warmer air will gradually return as the weekend approaches, with high temperatures pushing back through the 80s over the weekend and near 90° by next Monday.
