BATTLE CREEK, Mich. –  A warrant for Michael Hampton, the brother of Battle Creek Police Chief Jackie Hampton, is being reviewed by Calhoun County Prosecutors.

Hampton, 37, is accused of failing to notify the sex offender registry that he lost his job at Hooters in Battle Creek.

Battle Creek Police turned the report over to the prosecutor’s office, but FOX 17 has been told by an assistant prosecutor that the warrant for his arrest won’t be issued until the report is fully reviewed.

According to the Michigan State Police Sex Offender Registry, Hampton was convicted of two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in November 2004.

He was discharged from prison in February 2009, according to Michigan Department of Corrections.
