Vicksburg Fire Leads to Arson Arrest

generic police lightsVICKSBURG, Mich. — One man will likely be charged with arson after allegedly starting a fire in an abandoned building at 300 Highway Rd. in Vicksburg Thursday evening.

According to Vicksburg Police, they were investigating several calls of trespassing in the area at around 5:30 p.m. when they discovered smoke and called in firefighters, who extinguished the small blaze within 2 minutes.

The four suspects, three males ages 19, 17 and 15 and one 16-year-old female, were apprehended after the incident.  Three were found on the roof of the building, and another was discovered at his home.  Only the man believed to have started the fire has been arrested.  The other three will likely be charged with unlawful entry, according to police.
