A Florida all-female jury found him not guilty of second-degree murder, or manslaughter, in the shooting death of Travyon Martin.

The jury came to that decision late Saturday night.

It seemed apparent from the start that Sanford police and local prosecutors were reluctant to press charges. Since most prosecutors are publicity hounds, especially in a case drawing national attention this leads me to speculate that this is a case they didn't think they can win. It wasn't until much public protesting and the state got involved that charges were brought forward. This along with the last minute attempt to have the jury instructed to consider a charge of child abuse points to the prosecution not being confident in their case. From what I saw and read the prosecution was scrambling from their first witness on.
