Yello Cab Company Denied LicenseGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Yellow Cab Company will reopen in Grand Rapids after accusations of frad from the city led to their license being denied.  as soon as their new paperwork is cleared by the city, an employee said.

The company was shut down following accusations from city officials that four drivers tried to pass their vehicles off as “already inspected” to avoid paying a mechanic.  Those cars were owned by private brokers and were being subleased.

Because of those allegations, though, Yellow Cab’s license to operate in the city for the fiscal year beginning July 1 was denied, and entire fleet was grounded.  During their appeal to the city, officials found no evidence of a broader fraud, so as soon as Yellow Cab receives the new paperwork they can be begin operating.

An employee said they hope to be operating as early as Wednesday, July 17.
