Two Suspects Arrested In Connection With A String Of Robberies

correa300WYOMING,Mich. — Wyoming Police have identified and arrested two suspects for their involvement in a string of robberies that have occurred in Wyoming over the past two weeks. Detectives were able to locate the suspects, Codie Ann Vargas-Alegre, 28, and Juan Mario Hernandez-Correa, 38, at their Wyoming residence where they were both taken into custody without incident.

Interviews and evidence obtained throughout the investigation implicate their involvement in four of the robberies. Both suspects were arraigned in the Wyoming 62A District Court on July 26 on four counts of Armed Robbery.

Juan Hernandez-Correa was also charged as a habitual offender. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for August 7.

Wyoming Police Department responded to the Cash Advance located at 1044 28th Street SW in reference to a strong armed robbery. An employee of the store was assaulted in the parking lot as she was getting into her vehicle. The female suspect reportedly pushed the victim from behind and fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene in a two-door, “dusty maroon” Mazda.

Police are investigating four other robberies committed by a suspect with similar description: a tall white female in her mid-20’s to early 30’s.

The first incident occurred at Dollar General, 919 36th St SW, on 7/11/13 at 2034 hours. The female suspect gave the store clerk a note asking for money and kept her hand in her pocket implying a weapon.

On 7/13/13  a similarly described female entered CVS Pharmacy at 5603 Byron Center Avenue SW. The suspect asked the clerk for money from the register while advising her that an armed suspect was waiting in the parking lot if she did not comply.

On 7/15/13  a female suspect entered Boost Mobile at 3900 S Division Avenue and demanded money from the register while displaying a container of pepper spray.

On 7/17/13 the female suspect entered Dollar General at 1055 Burton St SW and demanded money from the register while displaying a black handgun that was tucked in her waistband.
