WEST MICHIGAN — The upper level low pressure system that brought unseasonably cold temperatures, clouds, and showers to our area this past weekend will be lifting out on Monday.

Monday morning will likely still feature cloudy skies and perhaps a little light rain or drizzle in the early/mid morning, otherwise a slow, gradual clearing trend will commence through the afternoon. The eventual sunshine should help warm our temperatures by Monday afternoon to 70 or better.

The attached snapshot is valid for Monday morning and is a computer forecast model showing the atmosphere at about 18,000 feet or 500 millibars. You can see the trough over the Great Lakes and “L” or low within the trough. It will slowly lift out by Monday afternoon taking the precipitation, clouds, and core of the coldest air with it.

Temperatures will build through the week to around 80 or better with the next real chance of showers and thunderstorms coming in on Wednesday. There is no unseasonably cold or hot air on the horizon in the seven day forecast. Click over to www.fox17online.com/weather for all the details.
