A Facebook page called “Find the hit and run killer of two Detroit icons” had more than 12,900 fans as of Sunday morning. It reads: “On the morning of Friday, July 27, two iconic Detroit citizens were killed by a hit-and-run driver. If you have spent any time in Detroit, you most likely recognize these two victims: “Michael” – The man without feet, thick dreadlocks, and intense eyes who wheels around downtown, Eastern Market, and other areas. James Van Horn, aka “Eat ’em Up Tigers Guy” – The Comerica Park mainstay who has entertained baseball fans for years. Both were killed in one single incident last night, the driver took off like a coward.”
