KENT COUNTY, Mich. — The man accused of having more than 42,000 images and videos of child porn on his computer now is under investigation by local officials.

Jeff Marchione is facing four federal counts including possession and distribution of child pornography.

In addition, Kent County law enforcement officials paid Marchione a visit this weekend at his home in Alto in eastern Kent County.

Witnesses said sheriff’s vehicles were on the scene for quite some time.

Kent County Undersheriff Jon Hess said after Marchione was charged at the federal level, some concerns surfaced during that investigation in their jurisdiction.

They are now investigating Marchione in conjunction with the Kent County prosecutor’s office.

Marchione is out on bond as he faces the federal charges.

A federal judge restricted him to his Alto home with an electronic monitor.

He’s also ordered to stay away from children and must get any schedule to go outside of the home approved by court officials.

Marchione reported in court documents that he had raised or fostered more than 20 children over a number of years and mentored many more as a licensed counselor.

In federal court a special agent testified that a teen had come forward, saying he’d been molested by Marchione.

There have been no charges released in relation to that allegation.

No word yet on any charges Kent County prosecutors may be considering in relation to their current investigation.
