Robert Munsell admitted to a second-degree murder charge in the Nov. 17, 2012 murder of his girlfriend, 31-year-old Julie Danielson.  He pleaded guilty as a third-time habitual offender, according to Montcalm County Prosecutor Andrea Krause.

Danielson’s body was discovered in her Pierson Township home on Whitefish woods Drive after the report of an assault.  Deputies discovered her body, but Munsell had left the scene.  He initially denied any involvement in her death, but officials say he was covered in large amounts of blood and his story was inconsistent.

Munsell eventually confessed to the crime, saying he cut Danielson’s throat after he knocked her out when she tried to force him to leave.  No sentencing hearing has been scheduled.
