BARRY COUNTY, Mich.- The chilling 911 calls that led to an hours-long manhunt in Rutland Township were released Aug. 8.

Police say Michael Cooley broke into an 82-year-old woman’s home, asking to use her phone, before sexually assaulting her and stealing her car.

Neighbors noticed that something wasn’t right and called 911 which led police to the area that Cooley was in. They surrounded him within a perimeter and did find him with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police say he did leave a suicide note.
