WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) —  Other than a slight chance of a rain shower Friday, next few days look dry and pleasant across West Michigan. Over the weekend, the annual Perseids meteor shower peaks. Astronomers estimate you could see as many as 100 per hour away from city lights. Although the peak is this weekend, you should be able to see them tonight into next week as well.

Since the moon will be only a thin crescent, there shouldn’t be any light pollution involved. The best time to see the shooting stars is after midnight. For more on the upcoming Perseid meteor shower from Sky & Telescope magazine, click HERE.
