GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Weekends are a busy time for road construction crews, and this weekend’s work schedule will close ramps in the downtown Grand Rapids interchange and close a lane on I-196 west of the downtown area.
US-131/I-196 Ramp closed
- Northbound ramp from US-131 to eastbound I-196 closed
- Friday (8/9) 10 p.m. until noon Sunday
- MDOT detour: Continue to Ann Street exit, re-enter southbound US-131 to ramp to eastbound I-196
I-196/US-131 Ramp closed
- Eastbound ramp from I-196 to southbound US-131 closed
- Friday (8/9) 10 p.m. until noon Sunday
- MDOT detour: Continue to College Avenue, exit and return on westbound I-196 to US-131.
I-196 Ramp closed
- Eastbound ramp from Lane Avenue to I-196 closed
- Friday (8/9) 10 p.m. until noon Sunday
- MDOT detour: East on Bridge Street, which becomes Michigan Street, use Ionia Avenue entrance ramp to eastbound I-196
I -196 Lane closure
- Right lane closed on eastbound I-196 from Lake Michigan Drive M-45 to just past US-131
- Friday (8/9) 10 p.m. until noon Sunday
