tuliptime_generic_1HOLLAND, Mich- The Pure Michigan campaign is heading to Holland. The commercial which is slated to begin shooting on Tuesday which feature the city of Holland exclusively according to Sally Laukitis the executive director of the Holland Visitors Bureau.

“We just decided it was time to take the next step and do a Pure Michigan TV commercial about Holland and see where it takes us.” said Laukitis. It will cost the visitors bureau about 150,000 dollars to produce the commercial. The total cost of the commercial is $300,000, but Travel Michigan contributes half of that amount in matching funds through its mission to promote statewide tourism. The dollars that are spent on this ad, are being returned to the Holland area tenfold in the form of high traffic in hotel rooms, campgrounds, restaurants, shops and parks according to Laukitis.

Avalon Films, of Royal Oak, spent last week looking at locations throughout the Tulip City to feature in a 30-second TV spot that will air beginning next summer. The filming is set for Tuesday and Wednesday at several local attractions.

The Holland Area Convention and Visitors office has made other investments in tourism in a pair of radio spots featuring the familiar voice of Michigan-born actor and comedian Tim Allen that continue to air locally and around the state.

The new Holland Pure Michigan Commercial will hit the air waves in the spring and summer of 2014.
