Tough Mudder Possible Norovirus OutbreakBROOKLYN, Mich. — A participant in the Tough Mudder event likely passed the norovirus on to dozens of others while on the course, an update released Wednesday from the Michigan’s Department of Community Health concludes.

There were more than 200 reports of gastrointestinal problems from spectators and runners at the event in Jackson County June 29-30.  There were more than 22,000 participants.

The flu-like symptoms of norovirus typically last only a few days, and the release says that everyone should be healed fully by now.  The update from the Department of Community Health says that most people who got sick had mud or muddy water in their mouth.
