CADILLAC, Mich. — Abby Wetherell, a 12-year-old Cadillac girl, is in the hospital with more than 100 stitches after being attacked by a black bear Friday morning.
Her mother, Elizabeth Wetherell, is speaking to FOX 17 about the situation and how her family is coping with this traumatic incident.

Abby was airlifted to Munson Medical Center where she underwent surgery and is in stable condition and under observation. She suffered deep lacerations in her thigh. DNR officials are setting traps in the area for the bear, and plan to euthanize it.
