COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (Aug. 19, 2013) — Two people from Kent County are behind bars in South Carolina in connection to the rape of a 1-year-old girl.

A source tipped FOX 17 off late Monday afternoon and told us the suspects are Stevie Foehl, 27, and Michael Emory, 25, both of Comstock Park.

The two were arrested in Spartanburg on fugitive warrants Friday.

The investigation is in the beginning stages, said Kent County Undersheriff Jon Hess, and at this point the department isn’t saying how the pair knew the alleged victim.

Someone who lives neaR the suspects’ last listed address didn’t want to be identified but said the pair moved out a month ago. Just recently, she says, officials came by with a picture looking for information.

“They never went into detail,” she said. “They just said have you seen this little girl?”

Undersheriff Hess says this a tough case for investigators. “This is a very disturbing case, for the detectives and people investigation.”

Someone who says she knows Foehl told us she was shocked when she heard. The woman she knew was a great mother, and she just can’t believe something like this.

Officials say it could take months before the Foehl and Emory are back in Michigan.
