Grand Rapids, Mich. — Statements from court are revealing more about what investigators say happened to 2-year-old Zaeyana Driggs – Threats.

DeShawn Threats, her father, says he found her not breathing when he woke up on August, 14.

He said he and her mother, Darci Driggs,  tried to revive her and called 911.

However, when medics arrived, police reported that Zaeyana was already deceased and they could not revive her.

Investigators also said that the girl, “was the victim of physical abuse.”

The Kent County Medical Examiner determined that she died from blunt force trauma to her abdomen.

Police said in a statement to the courts that, “the investigation has determined that DeShawn Ramon Threats…was her only caregiver during the time period that the fatal injuries occurred.”

Friday Threats was charged with felony murder and being an habitual offender.

In an exclusive jail house interview, he told FOX 17 that he was innocent and had been targeted because of his past history.

DeShawn said both he and Darci were home when they woke up and found Zaeyana wasn’t breathing.

He told us he was devastated that he had lost his daughter and asked his family to stick by him through the court process.
