OTISCO TOWNSHIP,Mich. — More than a dozen volunteers were on hand In Ionia County to begin the task of cleaning up debris from the historic covered bridge on Whites Bridge Road.
On July 7th the more than a century old wooden bridge was destroyed by fire and those who loved her were on hand giving their time and effort in hopes of one day rebuilding.
Diane Weemhoff used to bring her grand kids to see the bridge and play in the flat river “we would take them tubing and fishing we just loved it here”
The man in charge of the cleanup process is disabled Viet Nam Vet Paul Phynix he like all those there today are determined to make sure this site gets a new bridge just like the old one that sat in this same place for more than 100 years.
