WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Wednesday will bring with another day of heat and humidity. This also means stagnant air and an increase in the ozone levels. This has prompted the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to declare an Air Quality Alert Day for Wednesday, August 21, 2013.

People are advised to refrain from activities that would elevate the ozone levels. This includes, but is not limited to, using gas-powered lawn mowers, filling up your car’s fuel tank, and using lighter fluid on a grill.

Also during times when the ozone levels are elevated, people with asthma and young children should avoid being outside for extended periods.

Thursday will likely not be an Air Quality Action Day. For more on the forecast, join us on FOX 17 News, or visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
