The movie, slated for release in July 2015, will be the first time both superheroes appear together in a live action studio release.  Zack Snyder, the director of Man of Steel, is also directing the sequel.

Affleck won the Best Picture Oscar earlier this year for Argo, and is currently directing another movie, Live by Night, which is scheduled to come out in 2014.
