GRAND RAPIDS,Mich. — According to the Grand Rapids Police 19-year-old Brandon James Walker died August 30 from injuries received in an August 29 accident. The accident happened on the evening of August 29 at Delaware and Madison in Grand Rapids’ southeast side. Police say three bicyclists failed to stop at the westbound stop sign, and entered Madison Avenue in the path of oncoming traffic. One of the bicyclists, Walker was struck by a car.
The other two people riding with Walker saw the accident happen and rode off, leaving the victim at the scene.
The driver of the car was released, and this accident remains under investigation.
