allegan sheriffLEE TOWNSHIP,Mich. — Update: The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office received a tip late Sunday evening regarding the identity of the deceased male.  The tip was the result of an individual that had previous dealings with the deceased and recognized the tattoos and physical description from press releases.  Sheriff’s Office personnel have obtained photos from the Secretary of State and other organizations that are consistent with the identity provided by the tipster.  This information has been passed on to the Sparrow Hospital Morgue and will be used to expedite confirmation through fingerprints.   At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is still searching for next of kin and the deceased’s connection to the area in which he was found.  The identity will not be released until confirmation is made through fingerprints and next of kin have been notified.  It is unkown on how long those processes will take.  A follow-up press release will be sent when those steps are completed.

According to a press release the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office is currently working a Death Investigation.  On August 31 at approximately 12:46 PM, dispatch received a call of a male subject who walked on to a property in the 100 block of 54th St. in Lee Township requesting help.  AMR ambulance and Lee Township first responders arrived on scene and attempted to resuscitate the subject but they were unsuccessful.  Deputies arrived on scene and have been attempting to identify the circumstances surrounding the subject’s death and to try to identify the individual.  At this time there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances but the incident is still under investigation.

The sheriff’s office is requesting the public’s help in trying to identify the individual.  He had no identification on his person and no one in the area recognizes him at this point.

He is described as a white middle-aged male, approximately 5’ 11”, weighing approximately 300 to 325 pounds, dark hair with some graying, and he was found wearing a black t-shirt and black cotton shorts.  He was barefoot so it is believed that he did not walk far from where he was staying.  He has a tattoo of the Tasmanian Devil on his right forearm, another tattoo on his right upper arm/ shoulder, a tattoo of King Neptune and a shield on his left forearm and a saying in cursive tattooed on his left shoulder/ upper arm.
