KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — Michigan State Police are seeking a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge against a Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputy in connection with an alleged sexual assault at the county jail.
According to Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office, police submitted the case to them Friday. The identity of the deputy was not revealed because the charges have not been formally filed against them.
State police began investigating the deputy earlier in the summer at the request of the sheriff’s office. That deputy is currently on paid administrative leave, according to the prosecutor’s office.
