WEST MICHIGAN — Only a few light showers moved across portions of the area on Saturday as a cold front slide through the state. That said, look for slightly cooler, less humid conditions on Sunday.

As we head further in to September the days get shorter, the sun angle lower, and eventually the temperatures cooler. After some cloudiness on Sunday morning, we expect skies to turn mostly sunny to partly cloudy by the afternoon with highs in the mid/upper 70s.

We should actually have a very pleasant day for things like festivals, cider mills, and other outdoor activities. Our annual parish festival occurs this weekend (on Sunday) at Holy Trinity Church in Comstock Park. For the twelve consecutive year, I’ll be emceeing the event. We’ll have all types of prizes, raffles, chicken dinners, festival food, bingo, and entertainment. Make sure to drop by a say hello between noon and 5:00 PM!

A warm front will lift through the state Monday night and may trigger a shower or thunderstorm. Expect increased heat and humidity (briefly) Tuesday with temps topping out at 90 or better. This will likely be our last 90 degree reading this year. Afterwards, cooler temps are in store for the mid/later week.
