WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Monday’s temperatures were plenty warm, with most areas making it into the 80s. It appears Tuesday is going to be even hotter.

This image from our in-house computer model, Future Track, shows late-afternoon temperatures Tuesday. Many areas will be close to if not higher than 90 degrees. While this is about 15 degrees above normal highs for this time of year, it is not quite record-setting. The record high in Grand Rapids is 94 (set in 1931), while the record high for Muskegon is 88 (set in 1983).

The most recent 90-degree high in Grand Rapids was on August 27, when the high was 92.

Cooler temperatures arrive Thursday. For the latest forecast, join us on FOX 17 News or visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
