Over 250 Foreclosed Properties in Calhoun County Up For Auction

300 Austin, Albion, MIMARSHALL, Mich. — The Calhoun County Treasurer is auctioning off over 250 county-wide foreclosed properties on September 12, 2013. The public land auction will take place at the Holiday Inn-Battle Creek, 12812 Harper Village Drive. Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the auction at Noon. The auction is a great opportunity to purchase urban & rural residential properties, commercial properties (condo, strip mall, diner, & gas station) as well as a variety of vacant parcels.

Some of the properties include a $255,400 gas station in Emmett Township, $52,400 diner in Albion City, & $98,800 house in Athens Township. The minimum bid for the former gas station on 1344 Columbia Ave E is $27,500, the minimum bid for the former diner on 300 Austin Ave is $11,500 and the minimum bid for the house on 5800 M-66 is $6,800.

The properties being auctioned are the result of tax foreclosure for unpaid delinquent property taxes. The Calhoun County Treasurer shall sell the property to the person bidding the highest amount above the minimum bid.
