GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., — Funeral plans have been finalized for a Michigan State Trooper who was shot and killed in the line of duty Monday night in Mason County.
Services for 43-year-old Paul Butterfiel are scheduled for Saturday, September 14th in Manistee. Both the visitation and funeral will take place at Manistee High School. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with the funeral set to follow at 1 p.m.
Butterfield was shot in the head during an attempted traffic stop. He later died during emergency surgery in the hospital.
A young married couple, Eric and Sarah Knysz, is in custody and facing charges in connection with his death.
