9.24 FRIDGEGRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Consumers Energy is recycling its 75,000th refrigerator Tuesday. It’s part of a continuing program to help their customers go green and save some money.

If you donate your fridge, they’ll pick it up for free and give you $50. Plus, they say you will save up to $150 per year in energy costs by getting rid of a lower-efficiency, older model unit.

All customers can take part, by calling 877-270-3519, or going to their website.
