STEVENSVILLE, Mich.- The Stevensville Lakeshore High School Band is getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The band has been invited to France by the government to participate in June of 2014.
In order to pay it forward and raise money for their trip, the band will be playing a special concert at the Grand Rapids Veterans Home on November 11, Veterans Day.
To go, he band needs to raise $450,000 between now and June of 2014.
Michigan has more than 400 soldiers buried in Normandy.
