Police: Dad Calling for His Son Cause of Elementary School Abduction Scare

Posted

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — According to Emmett Township Public Safety, a father calling for his son from a car led to an attempted abduction scare when a nearby student thought he was yelling at her to get in his truck.

The man told police that his son left his backpack in the car after he was dropped off at Wattles Park Elementary School Sept. 27.   After he yelled for his son, a 9-year-old girl reported that he had tried to get her to come to his truck.  The man came in voluntarily for a police interview after his truck was identified in surveillance video.
