GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Warm, moist air will move into West Michigan for the next three days, with scattered showers developing at times during the day Thursday.

Dew points will climb into the 60s around the area by Thursday afternoon, with hit-and-miss showers affecting the region starting by late morning.  There may be some pockets of heavier rain and thunder, but it won’t be raining all day or all over West Michigan.

A similar pattern will exist through Thursday night and early Friday, but a warm front will lift north of the area early Friday, which will keep most of the wet weather out of the FOX 17 viewing area for much of the day Friday.  Instead, some partial sunshine will push high temperatures close to 80° Friday afternoon.

It currently appears as though the weather will cooperate for most high school football games around West Michigan Friday evening, although a slight chance of showers and storms will still exist.

The best chance at widespread and heavier rain, accompanied by some organized thunderstorms, will come Saturday night as a potent cold front slides through the Great Lakes.

We’ll continue to update the rain chances as the weekend forecast comes into better focus; keep abreast of any changes in the 7 Day Forecast and interactive radar on the Weather page.
