ADA, Mich. — The 17-year-old suspect in the Oct. 2 stabbing in Ada was charged Friday.

Samuel King was arraigned in 63rd District Court on charges of assault with great bodily harm less than murder, unlawful use of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.  He was also charged as a second-time habitual offender, and is being held on $475,000 bond.  A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 16 at 2:15 p.m.

King allegedly stabbed Nick Smith, a 15-year-old Forest Hills Northern Junior, in the 6000 block of Witherbee Drive SE Wednesday.  Prior to that, he was charged in May with aggravated stalking of an unidentified female victim and ordered to undergo psychological evaluation as part of his bond.
