WEST MICHIGAN — Yep…it’s that time of year! One of the best reasons to live in Michigan during the fall is certainly the beautiful color changes now beginning to take shape and unfold. Currently, all of lower Michigan is considered in “moderate color” for leaf change. As the scale goes, high will be next followed by peak.

I know there are small areas, certain locations, and a handful of trees here and there that have some awesome color, but as a whole, only moderate color is with us. We need less daylight and cooler temperatures to see the really wonderful colors set in…and we’ll have those as we head through the next couple weeks.

The attached photo is picture perfect and was emailed to us by Donn and Barb DenBoer of Lowell. It was snapped on Sunday in the U.P. at Tahquamenon Falls. I love the colors in this one, not to mention the falls themselves! Make sure if you have any photos to post them on the FOX 17 Facebook page, or email them to weather@fox17online.com.

Temperatures this week will (again) make a run for the low/mid 70s with dry conditions expected after Monday. That’s about 10 degrees above normal. Enjoy!
