Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

HOWARD CITY, Mich. – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Howard City on Sunday.

Aero Med was called to the intersection of Shaw Lane and Ensley Street at about 7:30 p.m. on a report of a crash involving a motorcyclist and a van.

The Montcalm County Sheriff’s department says one of the drivers ran a red a light.

The driver of the van was airlifted to a Grand Rapids hospital and listed in critical condition. The passenger in the vehicle was taken by ambulance to the hospital. No word on that person’s condition.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

    the Accident was a terrible site. Helmet lay near the feet of the motorcyclist dead on the ground. AreoMed circled the sky,landed at VFW for other injured person(s}. God be with the Families

    The speed limit in this spot is 35 mph, but yet motorcyclists and cars alike fly through here because it is a straight level road. The police really need to do something about the high rate of speed at which cars travel through this area.

      I've lived here all my life and would never say people fly through here at a high rate of speed, sure maybe every once in a great while I see it but not as bad as you make it out to be and it's not that level or straight….definitely not straight try google maps and take a look and right at latitudes it is unlevel to me this was just a life costing mistake by the motorcyclist

    The world lost a very good man that night. May God keep his hands on all the family members that were envolved.
