School-bus-crossing-signGRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Transportation experts from across the world are in West Michigan to discuss important issues in school transportation.

Cars stopping for busses and bullying prevention are just a few topics they’ll discuss at the National Association for Pupil Transportation being held at DeVos Place.

Transporting students with special needs will also be discussed.

By sharing their best practices, the transportation professionals hope to create a better standard in school transportation.

“Everyone in school transportation has the same issues, it’s just usually the order of magnitude,” Michael Martin, Executive Director of the NAPT said, “When we can help people who have experience connect with people who don’t, bringing people together who have new ideas.”

The conference began Saturday and runs until Thursday.
