SUV Rear-ends Parked School Bus

suv vs. school busGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A sports utility vehicle crashed into the back of a parked school bus early Tuesday morning, injuring the driver of the SUV.

The accident happened at around 8:00 a.m. at Scribner and Pearl.  Police say the bus was empty, has a New York license plate, and has been parked there for a couple of days.  With no markings denoting a school of origin, officers were still trying to determine to whom it belongs.

The driver of the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  The crash remains under investigation.

      no guest. i hit a bus once with an s 10 and i crumpled while the bus was left with a tiny scuff. they have to be built with serious reinforcement because bus drivers are known for not only stopping often but stop HARD! and within a short distance. they dont realize it cause most driver are female. who wouldve thought a female driver that slams on the breaks like a drag racer with no chute.

    The damage to the bus is on the driver side and the SUV is covering most of it up in this picture. I hope the lady driving the SUV was ok.

    pfff at least when i rear ended a bus it was after the bus driver made a stop fakey and then promptly put the lights on again after slamming on the brakes a second time and i didnt stop this time untill i hit the bus.

    The National Association of Pupil Transportation (NAPT) is having their annual conference in Grand Rapids this week. This bus was one that was driven to the conference by a bus vendor for use in one of the conventions, hence why it wasn't marked and had been parked a few days.
