TRAVERSE CITY, Mich- The mayor of Traverse City is in hot water, after being arrested for drunk driving.
The Traverse City Record Eagle is reporting that Mayor Michael Estes was stopped around 9 o’clock Wednesday night after he allegedly crossed the center lane and drove into a bike lane.
Investigators say a test showed that his blood alcohol level was .12, which is above the legal limit of .08. Mayor Estes was booked into the jail shortly after being pulled over, and bonded out early Thursday morning.
Aside from this incident, Estes has a clean driving record.
So far, he hasn’t decided whether he’ll resign as mayor or pull his name out of the November election following his arrest.
